Hey oppo. Having a little trouble with my gauge cluster and thought the ever helpful oppo community might be of more use than the forums that have ignored me.

The other night I took The reverse glow gauges that came on my car off. They came off easily enough but now that they are off the stock gauge cluster that was underneath is lighting up very strangely. Some of the gauge cluster is not illuminated and the parts that are are a strange half white half blue that looks almost like a sky.

There were a couple wires that were connected to the reverse glow gauges that snaked down into the dash somewhere and I was unable to figure out where they went or how to disconnect them. That may be related to this, I don't know. Any ideas?

The print on the plastic is worn out?

thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I follow. Do you mean perhaps it should be all blue or all white but it is fading out? I think from the factory it is a amber color. He probably changed the bulbs but I don't know why it is that half and half color.

Depends on the car, what kind of car is it? Most instrument panels in vehicles I seen are a blueish green color with orange / red accents. Could be LEDs, because stock bulbs give a warm glow. Although the Km/h and needles appear to be lit up well.

Your best bet may be to pick up a new cluster on ebay. I got a replacement cluster for my Civic for about $35. I was also able to reuse my odometer so the mileage was still true and accurate.

It's an '04 Civic Si. I believe everything is supposed to be lit up like the KPH. I cannot find a picture though.

I found a good one for $65 shipped but I didn't want to have a different odometer I didn't realize I could reuse mine.

I'm not entirely sure how yours all works, but mine was a simple swap of the actual speedometer mechanicals (my odometer in my Civic was analog).

For you, it could be a simple carryover of the LCD module, or the cluster might need to be programmed. I'm sure an auto body repair shop can do that for you as long as you verify and prove the original mileage.
